This chinrest is similar to the “Flesch” style of chin-rests – but offers a flatter support over the tailpiece, about 28mm high.
Berber chin rests (sometimes called “Ohrenform”) feature a gentle ridge along the jaw-side of the chin rest, which assists in directing the player’s jaw and head into a forward-facing position, though the flat contour of the chin rest still allows for freedom of movement.
