When one looks on the bright side of existence, the world is full of many beautiful phenomena. Perhaps the most precious of these is life itself. This piece celebrates the wonder of every living creature including humankind. The open, with suspenseful tremolos and a beautiful yet simple melody, portrays the miracle of birth in all its mystery. This leads then to an energetic melody which is flavoured by some lively time changes reflecting the dynamism of living. There are optional percussion and piano parts that would give the work a sense of occasion. Col legno, harmonics, pizzicato, incisive staccato and a spot-light moment for a solo string quartet are just some of the varying textures that drive this most triumphant work.
