These pieces are designed to bridge the gap between absolute beginner repertoire and works for elementary ensemble. Devices such as unison, simple part playing and call – response have been used throughout. The pitches are mostly drawn from the D major scale, although a number of keys have been used. Many techniques such as pizzicato, harmonics and tremolo have been employed to add to the fun of playing a string instrument.
