Mario Gadda (1931-2008) is the most prominent violin maker of Mantova, Italy in the late 20th century. His instruments were much influenced by his father, Gaetano Gadda, and Gaetano’s teacher, Stefano Scarampella, known as one of the most remarkable modern Italian master maker. This violin which he made in 1987 has a incredible vibrant sound for soloist, even in the concert hall. The gorgeous overtones are so projective and touching.
